Our Story

Sidewalk Homes is founded on the premise that it should not cost a lot more money in real estate commissions to buy or sell a $1 million home than to buy or sell a $500,000 or even $300,000 home. It is our belief that the real estate industry will change dramatically in the next five years, and it is our hope to lead that change.            

Will Bateson is the founder and broker of Sidewalk Homes.  He worked for several years in traditional real estate brokerages but always felt their corporate policies competed with the wishes of his clients.  The mission of Sidewalk Homes is to offer the best overall experience for real estate buyers and sellers in the East Bay, as well as portions of San Joaquin County.  Will recognizes that his role as an agent is to give professional guidance, while always allowing his clients to make the ultimate decisions. 

Will grew up in San Rafael, graduated from UC Davis, and received an MBA from San Diego State University.  Will also holds an Adjunct Faculty position in the Business Department at Las Positas College.  Will lives in Livermore with his wife, Heather, and their three children, Erik, Luke, and Griffin.  Whether he is helping a client purchase their first home or bicycling across the United States, he is passionate about everything he does.  He believes in knee high strikes, hitting fairways and greens, and The Golden Rule.
